Bizpack. GoToMeeting and way more.

Have you ever seen those ads on TV for GoToMeeting? Cool technology. Let me back up a few years. When I was in high school my dad had his own business. Tool and die machinery and stuff. Not my kind of work. Anyway, in his office he had a high tech gadget called a fax machine. This is back when more people had pagers than cell phones. (For the younger crowd, a pager is like a cell phone except you can’t make or receive calls. You just get a message to call someone back.) The concept of the fax machine is simple. You have two copier machines separated by miles but connected with a telephone line. You copy something here, and it prints out over there. I think most of you can understand the concept of the fax machine. Fast forward a couple decades.

Enter: GoToMeeting. This company is not the only one doing this but they are a leader. Here’s the problem. We as Americans are used to flashy, high tech images. We like to see things. We have more TV’s than people in some homes.

Let’s say you need to show someone a PowerPoint presentation. You grab your laptop, drive across town, show your presentation, and drive home. If you’re doing this for business your mileage is tax deductable. But what if you didn’t have to drive at all? Remember that old technology of yesteryear? Email? Yes, email. It is great. We still use it. You can send a picture, text, even attach an audio file. Sometimes it gets opened and seen. But it’s not interactive.

Now what if you could show your power point presentation over your internet connection? You could use your phone or VOIP (voice over internet protocol) to communicate audibly with your audience (one person or up to 1000 people). And the image on your computer can be displayed on the computer screens of everyone you invite to the meeting. You can display your desktop image to your audience and you can turn it off if you want to pause the presentation so they don’t see something you want kept private.

You can show anything over GoToMeeting, not just power point presentations. Any picture, any email, any project or document that you choose to share can be displayed to those who you invite to the meeting. This is far better than sending a static image over email or just a voice over the phone. This is interactive. You can back up when someone has a question. Even when muted your audience can type messages to you that appear on your screen. You can temporarily give control of your computer to someone else and take control back again.

For a demonstration of how this works contact me and I’ll set up a time to show you my business. No purchase necessary of course, but I warn you, you may like what I have. For starters, the Bizpack™ suite of business tools includes GoToMeeting. Sure, you could just buy GoToMeeting, but we have that plus a whole lot more value packed inside a product called the Bizpack suite. Click the link and learn more about the new way to run your business. You might be surprised what else you get.

Always enjoy your Hubs. They are a moment for a short story transporting us to another time or place then bringing us back a little like a major theme park ride perhaps. Anyway, always fun. Looking forward to Bizpack. Some are most interested in the tax savings tools. Some are waiting for the GoToMeeting tools. I am waiting for the Contact Manager, drip email and the ability to create newsletters and maintain lists. That wasn't a commercial. That's just the tools I am most looking forward to. The sun is coming up over the cul-de-sac. Must get going. Let's see, where did I leave that darn pager?

Likewise for your comments Bill. You rock!

I'm not supposed to say anything but someone Very high up in the company indicated a possible addition to the list you gave here. A mystery bonus? I can hardly wait.

You hit all that is good with Go to Meeting. And GTM is $100/month if purchased separately. And BizPack offers so much more for just a little more per month.

Price only counts for so much. Value for the dollar spent is more important. And you're right Jeff, Bizpack has great value.
